General Information

The programme allows for the exchange of undergraduate students between Pusan National University (PNU) from South Korea and the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (POLITEHNICA Bucharest) to facilitate new cultural and intellectual explorations and a broadening of academic, professional, and cultural perspectives of the students of both universities.

The academic exchange will include industrial site training in Korea and is followed by an internship at Hanwha Aerospace Romania in Bucharest.

Eligibility

This program is open to undergraduate students in their 3rd and 4th year of study, and scholarships are available for the following majors:

  • Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics;

  • Electrical Engineering;

  • Automatic Control and Computer Science;

  • Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology;

  • Industrial Engineering and Robotics;

  • Power Engineering.

Courses will be conducted in English, and applicants are required to possess a B2 level (CEFR) proficiency certificate.

Financial Support

Students participating in the exchange programme pay NO tuition fee at the host institution.

As an industry-academic cooperation partner, Hanwha Aerospace (https://www.hanwha.com/about-us/overview.do ), South Korea’s leading defense company, will provide financial support for four categories: plane tickets, meal expenses, accommodation, living costs.

Miscellaneous fees such as special course fees, fieldwork courses, key deposits, books, and others will be paid directly by each student.

All exchange students are required to have a comprehensive health insurance policy which also provides emergency travel insurance.

Application Steps

After applying on the platform, you will be nominated by Politehnica Bucharest and PNU will directly send the application guidelines via e-mail.

You then should access the Application portal(https://sep.pusan.ac.kr/inbound/exchange/login) with the e-mail address and birthdate (yyyymmdd) as ID and passport.

Application Period

- The application for the Spring semester (March-June in Korea) must be done until October 30th

- the application for the Autumn semester (September-December in Korea) must be done until April 30th.

Requirements for Korean Student Visa

To study in South Korea, Romanian citizens need a student visa (D-2), which is obtained through the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Romania. The application process involves submitting a request, providing the required documents, and paying the visa fee (approximately 60–90 USD).

The first step is completing the application at Pusan National University and obtaining the letter of acceptance from the partner university.

End of Studies

At the end of the mobility period, students will be issued the Transcript of Records.
